This work began as a response to the word “held” and an exploration of its various meanings: to be incarcerated/ trapped; to be embraced/nurtured; to be held/locked/connected in a moment or cycle of trauma.

Wallpaper has been used in the cell to cover/hold areas of the space as a way of feeling into these ideas – an attempt to acknowledge a link between a prisoner on the inside and those left outside to pick up pieces following an event.
